Golf Fitness DVD Improves Driving Distance
By Over 20 Yards
Golfers all over the world are realizing that it’s their body keeping them from a better game! A game with more power and consistency. I received this email just the other day (see below).
“I have now after just 3 weeks of my intermediate golf fitness dvd and noticed an increase of 20 yards + off the tee and with irons and this weekend I shot a 4 under par 68 in a strong wind at my home club Royal Liverpool which will host the British Open this year. The benefits of doing this golf fitness programme are unbelievable! I thank you Mike for a tremendous programme and site and can’t wait to improve my golf even more. ” - Tom Boys
Golf Exercise Workouts To Play Your Best Golf
Golf exercise workouts are a must if you want to go into the season in “golf shape”. Look at it this way! If you were getting ready to start a sport season…say football or basketball…would you want to “get in shape” to play your best? I would think you would.
The same goes for your golf game!
You’ve got to stretch and strengthen those golf muscles so they are prepared to perform the way you want them to. If you don’t, then you shouldn’t expect much in return. You’ll have a very slow start to the season. In fact, it may take you “all season” to finally get it back!
These golf exercise workouts can be as simple as a few stretches and strength exercises for core rotational power and flexibility. Since the main movement in golf is a turn (rotation) back and a turn(rotation) through…train your core to be able to do this efficiently and you’re way ahead of the game!
Also, take a look at your previous or current swing faults. In there lies a physical limitation causing it. For example, the “over-the-top” banana ball move. On cause of this is lack of trunk rotation flexibility (and strength).
On the downswing your trunk (core) has to be strong enough and flexible enough to be able to separate the lower body from the upper body and start down “first” with the lower body. If it isn’t, you’ll instantly start with your upper body causing an “over the top” move.
This can be avoided with some simple stretching and strengthening exercises for your core. This is just one example of how “your body” is the cause of the swing fault. So incorporate a golf exercise workout as soon as possible!
Stretches For Golf
Stretches for golf should be a daily occurence. The golf swing requires a range of motion that is not acquired by just hitting more balls or taking more lessons.
There are many different types of stretches for golf. There are total body golf stretches; pre-golf stretches; on course golf stretches; post-golf stretches; and stretches for golf swing faults.
This may sound complicated, but I can assure you it’s not. Many of the golf stretches overlap and can be done in several of the above scenarios. But the most important thing to remember is to do them consistently.
Golf Swing Ball Can Improve
Swing Speed And Distance
Golfers are looking for any way they can to increase golf swing power and distance. The latest in golf training equipment is the golf swing ball (or medicine ball). This is used by most golf conditioning experts for a variety of reasons.
Vijay Singh is known to throw a heavy golf swing ball during the weekend of a big tournament!
You can do dozens of core golf strength training exercises with it to improve your driving distance. A great example is the Lunge With A Twist exercise.
Instructions:
- Hold golf swing ball in front of your stomach.
- As you step forward with your right leg, slowly rotate upper body to right holding golf swing ball.
- Return to starting position and repeat for 10 reps and switch legs.
- Complete 3 sets of 10 repetitions for each leg.
Benefits to Golf Swing:
- Strengthens lower body and “core” muscles from a rotational standpoint for improved stability and clubhead speed.
- Also improves sequence of motion with entire body.
- Generate power through the legs and core.
This is just one of dozens of golf exerices I utilize in all my golf training dvds, manual and products.
Golf Stretches Should Be Done Daily
I receive a lot of emails from golfers asking me how often they should do their golf stretches.
I always come back with “how quickly do you want to see improvement?”
The more consistent you are with your golf stretches, the faster the results. It’s like anything else in life. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it.
So my answer is daily!
Do some form of golf stretches on a daily basis. It would be some of the golf stretches in the office, that I have in a chapter of my golf training manual; it could be the Total Body Flex Program; or even just a simple golf stretch when you remember to do it.
Either way…do something everyday!
Golf Swing Sequence Cannot Be Achieved
Did that get your attention? I wanted a title that would stop you in your tracks so you could read my brief post here on golf swing sequence.
Let me explain.
To achieve the proper golf swing sequence, your body has got to be supple enough to move in a sequence of motion that is not natural nor very comfortable.
This suppleness relates to both golf specific strength and flexibility during the golf swing.
A Golf Fitness DVD Should Be “Plug-And-Play”
A golf fitness dvd is a fantastic alternative to hiring a certified professonal golf trainer.
With the prevalence of golf fitness becoming mainstream, I have seen a ton of golf fitness dvds come onto the market. Since I have developed my very own golf fitness dvds, I wanted to see how they compared to the others.
The biggest issue that caught my attention was too much fluff and talking and not enough actual golf exercises, instruction and formatting to make it “plug-and-play”. Time is a valuable commodity and wasting it is a frustration.
New Golf Training Aids Information
Golf training aids fill up every golfers garage!
The 6 million dollar question is did they help your game? Did you improve your golf swing from the purchase of a certaing golf training aid?
I’m always blown away at how easily a golfer will pull out his wallet in hopes for the “silver bullet”. Golf improvement needs to be approached from a different angle if you want long-term results. Looking for a quick fix is not the answer.
Vijay Singh And His Relentless Golf Practice
I was just watching the Golf Channel and saw that they put a “ticker” on Jijay Singh. This “ticker” clicked over EVERY TIME Jijay contacted a ball in practice or play. The point they were making was Vijay’s golf practice ethic. He was there WAY BEFORE the round started…and the LAST ONE to leave in the evening.
This “ticker” had recorded over 550 golf practice shots by the time I left the television viewing area. They said that is the equivalent to 2 entire tournaments in ONE DAY!
Wow!
Vijay is a golfing machine!
Don’t forget he uses the very popular golf training aid called the SPEED STIK everday as well!
Why Most Golf Training Aids Won’t Work For You
Golf training aids are a billion-dollar market to the millions of golfers looking for the “magic bullet”. Unfortunately, most of these golf training aids won’t improve your golf swing. I know this may sound a bit confusing, but I say it with the utmost conviction.
The BIG golf companies are feeding on the frustrated golfers who are not improving. They have millions of dollars to hit you with marketing campaigns, until you “give in” and and spend the $100.
