A Great Golf Gift For Valentines Day

If you’re looking for a golf gift to get someone…or you want your significant other to get you one…how about a golf gift that will not only improve your golf swing and game…but your health too? You’ll even look better for your special someone.

What I’m talking about is my golf training dvds and golf fitness manual.

Or even our weighted golf club!

Wouldn’t any of these be a great golf gift that has some thought behind it?

Are Your Golf Lessons Getting You More Frustrated

I can’t tell you how many times I hear from members of my online golf training site, and customers of my golf fitness training site that have taken golf lessons only to play “worse”.

Why does this happen? Has it happened to you?

I can tell you with absolute certain of one reason why. Do you wanta know what it is?

Your pro tells you a certain swing mechanic or move he wants you to do. You try and try, but can’t do it. He gives you a drill to do to accomplish this “new move”. You still can’t do it.

It’s your BODY!

You can’t physically do it! No matter how hard you try, your body won’t let you!

Does this scenario sound familiar?

If so…it’s time for a change of approach!

Improve your golf fitness and golf flexibility and you’ll be able to do ANYTHING your pro wants! I’m not kidding! The sooner you get your body moving more freely with less tension…the sooner your golf swing mechanics will improve.

Mental Golf…See The Ball

If you focus totally on your target and see your ball when you hit it, you will lower your score.

Swing thoughts are for the practice range. When you are playing, it is time to clear your mind, forget about the outcome and play on instinct. An excellent way to stop your mind from thinking and keep your head and body from swaying or sliding is to focus totally on seeing your ball being hit.

The best way to start training your mind to see the ball being hit is when you are putting because it is a much slower process then hitting the ball with your driver or irons. The next time you practice putting (whether it’s on the putting green or at home on your carpet) do the following exercise.

After you have taken in all the inputs and are standing over the ball ready to putt, focus totally on seeing your ball being hit. Then, putt the ball while staying totally focused on seeing your ball being hit. If you have done this exercise properly, your will see the image of your ball for a brief flicker of a second after you have hit it and it’s on its way to the hole.

With practice it becomes easy to see the white image of the ball after you hit it on the putting green because the image of the white ball against the green background briefly remains in your mind’s eye. With even more practice and concentration on seeing the ball being hit, you will still be able to see the lingering image of the ball even on a white carpet.

The more you practice this exercise, the easier it will become to see the remaining image of your ball after you hit it and it is no longer there. This is a fact. So just do this exercise and prove it to yourself if you have never witnessed this natural experience.

Once you can do this exercise successfully with your putting do it when chipping and pitching. Then, do it with your irons and driver. My friend Karl Fischer, director of the 555 Golf Academy in Los Vegas, can even see the spin of the ball when he hits it with his short irons.

Of course, he has many years of experience under his belt. In time so will you if you make it a priority to see the ball when you hit it. If you do, you will never miss a putt or make a bad shot because you moved your head or looked up to soon to see what the outcome was.

Tiger Woods Did It Again

Tiger Woods is unbelievable!

Just when it seems he’s out of the tournament in regards to winning it…he comes out and eats his competition. He is so strong with mental golf. When he got in that 3-way playoff I would have laid a hundred bucks on the table that he’d come out victorious.

Nathan Green just blew up. I felt bad for him. And Jose Maria Olazabal missed a fairly simple putt. It even looked like Tiger was disappointed or maybe felt bad for Jose when he missed it and the camera zoomed in on Tiger.

I have to think Tiger’s mental and physical preparation gives him the edge the majority of the time. Look at Phil Mickelson for instance. He was right in there…then blew a few drives off the fairway and quickly took himself right out of the tournament.

Tiger is starting his year off on top. Look out for the rest of the season if he gets his driver working and his putter hot!

Golfer Elbow Golf Injury Can Be Debilitating

A very common golf injury that occurs among amatuer golfers is golfer elbow.

It’s not too difficult to figure out. To begin with a golfer elbow injury will usually take a long time to heal properly and quite often recurs shortly after a golfer gets back to the course. Golfer elbow is a golf injury very similar to tennis elbow, which tennis players equally dread.

Warm up exercises before getting into a round of golf and a warm down as well, at the end of your game, also help tremendously in reducing the risk of a golfer elbow injury.

Also, stretching plays a key role in the rehabilitation of such an injury. Stretching out the wrists, hands and forearms will greatly help. Trying not to agitate this area will speed up your recovery. Once you’ve recovered…you’ll want to do a ton of wrist and hand strength exercises to prevent this golf injury from returning.

Improve Golf Game And A Better Life

Golfers from all over the world are transforming their golf games. Check it out!

“Dear Mike, all your golf training advice has changed my life forever. A year ago when I first started not just reading your newsletters, but heeding your advice to go to the gym - I dropped 50 pounds. Then I made a life changing move. One that all my so call freinds said was not possible. I contacted the United States Golf Teachers Federation, attended one of there schools and am know a Golf Teaching Professional.

That’s not the good part , the good part is that I am now playing on the USGTF Tour here in Michigan and I am also a member on the 2002-2003 winter series Hooters Tour in Florida. Please feel free to call both of the above for confirmation. My next goal is to go to ‘Q school’ for the senior PGA Tour. There is no dought in my mind that I will make the tour . I do my golf workouts out every day. At 52 Im stronger and more fit than I was after boot camp in 1968. Thank you for all your help and my new life: it all started with you Mike.” — David A Richard

Golf Tip For Golf Swing Balance

A good golf tip for golf swing balance is performing all your standing golf exercises on one leg! You heard that right…on ONE leg! This is one of the most effective golf tips for golf swing balance. You may have even had your golf pro have you make golf swings on one leg.

If you’ve tried…you’ll admit it’s quite difficult.

My thought is…if you can controllably do your golf exercises with resistance on one leg, you can go out on the golf course and swing in control and with perfect golf swing balance every time!

You will improve your golf swing quickly and with ease with this approach!

And if you live on the edge…you’ll go to the practice range and hit several dozens balls on one leg. By doing your golf exercises AND hitting balls on one leg…your golf swing will be dialed up!

John Daly’s Troubles Off The Course Continue

I’m a big fan of John Daly. He has been through a lot in his life and career. You can’t help but pull for him when you watch him in a tournament.

In golf news, his wife was recently arrested.

The day before making his first PGA start of the year, John found out his wife was being taken to jail to serve a five-month sentence on a federal charge involving a drug ring and an illegal gambling operation.

John seems to have his head on straight and will deal with this like everything else in his life. Hang in there John…and hit’em LONG & STRAIGHT!!!

Lower Golf Scores And Improved Golf Swing Speed

“Mike, Well I’ve started my golf exercise program and believe it or not I’ve seen immediate results. I was stuck in the 81-84 scoring range for weeks. I did my first two golf workouts with many many stretching exercise in between at various times during my day. My first two rounds after starting my program were 79 and 75 and both could have been lower!

I truly believe the combination of the golf stretching and golf workouts made the difference. I am now getting FIT FOR THE FIRST TEE and THE FAIRWAY. My drives were 10-12 yards longer and my irons were approx. 5-7 yards further then I normally hit them (my golf swing speed is already better). I even knocked a ball over a par 5 in two. I have never done that before on a par five. My buddies say they aren’t playing me until my handicap goes down at the end of the month.” — Randy Wolf

Have Your Golf Lessons Paid Off

How many times have you taken golf lessons, only to walk away playing worse and more confused than ever? I know, because I’ve been there. Do you know what’s really happening?

I can tell you almost 100% confidently.

Your golf pro is telling you what you need to do, but your body CAN’T do it! Does that make sense? There is a “disconnect” between your mind and your body.

That’s where the frustration steps in. You end up swinging and playing worse than before (UGH).

But what if you took a different approach?

Work on your physical limitations “first”, then take a series of golf lessons and watch what happens. I can guarantee you’ll be hitting it much better and ultimately be able to do exactly what your pro wants you to do.

Now that’s a successful golf improvement program!
